1839 (Oct 15) Entire letter to Edinburgh endorsed "In P. Paid 1/3", backstamped with Falmouth, Jamaica c.d.s and an Edinburgh arrival c.d.s of Dec. 5th, the first day of Uniform 4d Post in Britain but charged at the previous rate of 2/5 as it arrived in England prior to the introduction of the 4d inland rate, with fine green "½" applied upon arrival at Falmouth. A fine letter, which would only have been charged 1/- had it arrived in England on December 5th.
