1840-1900 QV Used collection in an album, unusually fine quality throughout, including 1d Mulready lettersheet with advert for John Richards & Co, Bookseller (MA468c) used from London to Iden near Rye; 1d blacks (17) with all plates 1a-10 and matched 1d black/1d red pairs for plate 1 JE (with black plate 1a and 1b), plate 2 NK, plate 5 KE, plate 8 LB, plate 9 RH and plate 10 LI, additional 1d reds from the seven black plates and 1d plate 5 on cover, 1840 2d blue plates 1 and 2, all imperf stamps with good to large margins; 1841 1d reds plates 12-25, 2d blues (4) all fine; 1854-57 2d blues, the eight differing Small and Large Crown perf 14 and perf 16 stamps; 1858-76 2d blues (9, one inverted watermark), 1864-79 1d plate 225; 1847-54 embossed 6d (3), 10d and 1/- (3) all cut square with four margins; 1855-1900 Surface Printed issues, mainly selected examples with circular datestamp cancels including 1855 4d blued paper with all three watermarks, 4d white paper with red oval "PD" cancel, 6d pale lilac on azure paper, 1/- (2), 1862 1/- with neat c.d.s cancel, 1867-72 3d block, 9d, 10d and 2/- with c.d.s cancels, 1/- with red oval "PD" cancel, 1867-83 Maltese Cross 10/- with neat Glasgow c.d.s, £5 orange with Manchester Accounts c.d.s and small manuscript date (a few short perfs at lower left), 1880 1/- orange brown, Large Garter 4d-8d all with c.d.s cancels, 1884 Imperial Crown £1 brown (3, one thinned), 1891 £1 green, etc., a good collection.
