Private William Thomas Summers was a native of Smethwick and enlisted into the 5th Bn on the 4th June 1915. He landed in France on the 10th December 1915. On the 28th March 1918 whilst serving with the 2nd Bn he was wounded in the chest and forearm, he was posted back to England and after a spell with the Labour Corps was discharged April 1919.
