A continental (Austrian) oval enamel box decorated with figures and landscapes within panels with gilt highlights on a red ground, internally decorated with an iced river scene and a lake scene, 6.5cms wide.
There is a crack to the enamel to the back; there is an area of damage and loss to the bottom of the top panel at approx 5 o'clock area and associated area to the side, probably dropped on that edge at some point. There is also a small area of damage to the top of the front panel below the clasp, all visible with an eyeglass, otherwise good overall condition.
