A GEORGE III SILVER SNUFF BOX OF BOWED RECTANGULAR FORM, the hinged lid with cartouche engraved 'Edwin Hey' surrounded by wriggle work engraving, lozenge engraved ends, the gilt interior bears presentation inscription to inside of the lid ' Presented To Segt Major Edwin Hey 33rd Regt By Serjeants of the Depot of his Corps as a mark of their respect & esteem. Chatham 11th Nov 1840', maker Samuel Pemberton, Birmingham 1807, length 7cm, 1.11ozt, 34.5 grams (Condition Report: some wear to the wriggle work, hinge works well and lid closes full, gilding is bright, a few small dints)
