Antiquities: a Roman antefix (special roof tile). This tile was the gable end of the row of ridge tiles along the top of a Roman roof. The image protected the people and building and its contents below. The image represents a protective god, mythical monster or spirit. This example may represent the sun god Sol with his radiate hair. The sun was also worshiped as Apollo or Helios. Mounted on a wooden display board, diameter of the board 29cm. No shipping. Arrange collection or your own packer and shipper, please.
