A sapphire and diamond three stone ring, the central cushion cut sapphire (9.2mm x 6.4mm x 5.9mm, approximate weight 3.3 carats), with a round old cut diamond to each side (weighing an estimated 0.25 carats each), all claw set in white metal to the shaped shoulders and plain polished shank, indistinctly stamped '18' to inside, ring size M 1/2, weight 4.3gms

With accompanying Gemmological Certification Services report no. 81286-32, stating that the carat weight is 3.3ct approx, that the stone is a natural corundum sapphire, of Sri Lankan (Ceylon) origin and there are no indications of heating.

Overall condition is good. There is a small fracture to one of the facets bordering the table, and some nibbling to the facet edges and to the girdle. Under 10x lens the stone appears clean (viewed table down), and is an even rich blue. Viewed from the side, there is colour zoning. The diamonds to each side are in good order, with no fractures, chips or nibbling. Clarity is assessed to be approximately is I1/SI2, and colour is assessed to be approximately J/I or higher. Diamonds appear sparkly, bright and white when viewed face up with the naked eye. All claws are in good order and stones are secure. Settings and shank are in good order, no thinning, splitting or misshaping, minor scratching and wear only.
