"The Naturalist's Library", vol 10 'Mammalia Dogs' and vol 9 'Mammalia Dogs', vol 10 has been rebacked, contemporary cloth laid down, vol 9 in original publisher's cloth, colour illustrations bound to the back of both vols, small 8vo (2)
Externally, generally smart; both volumes have been rebacked, with some slight loss to the head of the original spine which has been laid down of volume X. General edgewear to the extremities and marks to the boards. Water damage to front board of vol. IX is slight. Internally, firmly bound: endpapers and pastedowns of both volumes are not original, with the exception of the front endpaper and pastedown of vol. X. This contemporary endpaper is rather offset as photographed. Pages have just the odd spot. Volume X appears to be lacking plates VX and XVI, as well as pages between xiv-18, so collation is uncertain, but appears all other plates present. Forty plates present: this includes a portrait, an engraved half title, four osteological plates to the rear numbered and stating vol 1, and thirty-four coloured plates. When rebound, the colour plates have all been bound together at the rear of each volume.
