The Mercedes 107SL was introduced in 1971 and continued along the same basic design principals as the 113 Pagoda, but was a little bigger and wider than the Pagoda. The disappearing hood mechanism, with the removable hard-top, remained and the engine options now included the 3.5 litre V8, which powered the new saloon range. The 107SL was a hugely successful model, which remained in production for 18 years, largely unchanged. Engine options expanded to include a 2.8 and in 1986 a 3.0 straight six and V8's, which expanded to 5.6 litre by the end of the production run in 1989, when it was replaced by the new 129SL.
This car is a good example of the desirable Mercedes 107SL model range. It has very good bodywork, with a very good hardtop, and mechanically is sound confirmed by the owner driving over 100 fault free miles, to deliver it to our offices. The car passed an MOT in July without any advisories.
The original Mercedes wheels are in good condition, and the engine bay is tidy and oil free. It also has the advantage of full leather trim which is in excellent condition for the age and mileage of the vehicle.
Fine to concourse examples of this model are now fetching stratospheric prices and here is an opportunity to purchase one for a very modest sum, which could show a profit by simply locking it away for a couple of years.
