A smokebox numberplate, 44960, from a LMS Class 5 4-6-0 No 4960 built at Horwich in 1946, becoming BR 44960. It spent almost all its working life at Perth before moving to Fort William at the end of 1962 where it was a regular performer on the West Highland Line. Returning to Perth for a final spell, it was withdrawn from there in January 1966 and sold for scrap to McWilliams at Shettleston. The front repainted. (Postage Band: D)
