The Enduro model XL500 was manufactured from 1979 to 1981 as XL500S and from 1982 to 1984 as the modified model XL500R. It was launched as a direct competitor to the Yamaha XT500 to serve the growing enduro, off-road and long-distance travel market in the late 1970s. The R (internal code PD02), was recognisable by a black painted engine, rear wheel swinging arm in metallic silver with central spring strut ( Pro-Link ) and progressive damping by means of a bell crank, a 21 inch front wheel with 17 inch rear wheel and a 12 volt electrical system.
TEP was imported from Holland in 2019 in need of restoration and registered with the DVLA in the August. Now fully rebuilt by our vendor, he has only covered some 52 km since and now agrees he is not as agile as he hoped he was so he is selling it.
Sold with the V5C and an MOT until December 2020 (misplaced).
