New Guinea 1914 5d on 50pf, 6mm space from setting VI.3, on piece, Rabaul cds SG 10 Used
1914-15 5d on 50pf black and purple on buff, 6mm spacing from Setting VI, pos. 3, tied to piece by light RABAUL cds, dated "1 JA 15" (in error for "16"). Very scarce from this setting (rated by Gibbs at 5x normal), especially in used condition. BPA cert (2022), SG 10, £1,100. N.B. This cds was introduced in April 1915. Failure to change the year slug on New Year's Day is an understandable error.
