4d-RATE "M" COVER TO GENOA WITH MALTA "P." IN OVAL STRUCK IN ERROR BESIDE CORRECT "P-D"; 24 Apr. 1858 E from Malta to Genoa "[Par] Col. Vap. Postale" with GB 4d Rose-Carmine (wing-margin) tied by a very fine Malta barred "M" cancel but most unusually having both a very fine red oval-framed Malta "P." (struck in error) and a very fine similar Malta red oval-framed "P-D." (the correct mark) struck alongside the stamp and a fine red "PIROSCAFI/POSTALI/FRANCESI" mark; there is also an overstruck small red "A/MALTA" cds on the flap. A unique(?) combination of Malta markings; Exhibition Quality.
