Baroness Sharples (Pamela Sharples 1923-2022) A set of House of Lords crimson West Country cloth and Ermine robes by Ede & Ravenscroft, with bullion thread panels and train, in a matching crimson bag bearing the legend "Baroness Sharples" Baroness Pamela Sharples; (11 February 1923 – 19 May 2022) was appointed to the peerage in 1973 after the assassination of her husband, Sir Richard Sharples, the Governor of Bermuda. She married three times. outliving all three husbands. She showed great fortitude raising her four children after the death of their father and was quoted as saying ‘How does bitterness help you? I just felt what a terrible waste of lives it was’. She was a conservative life peer and remained an active and vocal member of the House of Lords until she retired in 2017. She died in May 2022 at the age of 99.
