BISHOP'S CASTLE CAMP (ONLY KNOWN P.O.W. COVER) COVER TO PAROLE GENERAL IN BRIDGNORTH; 28 Feb. 1813 EL (minor flap faults and some reinforced folds) from "L. Capt. Gregoire" in "Bishop's Castle' Camp to "General de Breuf Sur Parole a Bridgenorth, Shropshire" charged "10[d]" because sent via London with mainly very fine triple-oval "TRANSPORT OFFICE/[Crown]/G.R/PRISONERS OF WAR" mark on the front and London transit cds on the flap. The writer thanks the addressee for 10 louis and asking if he had nay news of the "officers of Guadalajara". The only recorded cover from a POW in Bishop's Castle (illust.
