Ben Todd, London a painted longcase clock the eight-day duration movement striking the hours on a bell with an inside countwheel with the twelve-inch brass break-arch dial having a raised chapter ring engraved with black Roman numerals, the matted centre having a subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture with cast-brass female-head spandrels to the four corners, the arch with a roundel engraved with the makers name Ben Todd, London, the pagoda top case repainted in yellow with raised Oriental decoration, height 246cm. Notes: Benjamin Todd is recorded as being apprenticed in London in 1709 and a Freeman of the Clockmakers Company from 1747.
