A pair of officer’s 20 bore percussion holster pistols by “Rabone Brothers & Co” (1866-68), 13½” overall, sighted octagonal barrels 8” engraved London, with two platinum lines at breech; scroll engraved back action locks signed in script; walnut fullstocks with rounded chequered butts and oval GS escutcheons; steel mounts include scroll engraved trigger guards with pineapple finials, and with swivel ramrods. GWO & C (one has very small crack in the stock below the lock, the other has small split in the fore end, both hammers old replacements); in their green baize lined fitted mahogany case, the lid with rectangular brass escutcheon and brass bound corners, containing a flattened hexagonal copper pistol flask, brass mounted loading/cleaning rod, a modified steel pincer ball mould (worn) and a small plain steel Eley cap tin.
