£280
Attributed to Elizabeth Siddal (1829-1862) - four young girls admiring a baby, inscribed by a later hand verso with the artist's name and the suggestion that it also maybe by Thomas Seddon, pencil, pen and ink with some sepia wash, a preparatory sketch, 5" x 7", unframed
-
** Given to the present vendor on the occasion of the birth of his daughter, November 1994.
-
** The work has similarities in style to both Elizabeth Siddal and Thomas Sedon (1821-1856) both artists were associated with the Pre-Raphaelite movement
The drawing is in good condition with no damage, however, the paper has faded slightly although the work is painted in a brown sepia wash and brown ink with some pencil, contained within a stained outer wash line mount probably placed on the picture in the 1960s or '70s.
