Carved as a gnarled tree trunk encircled by a large python coiling around a distressed macaque in his grip, the snake with the mouth wide open exposing his tongue and fangs, the eyes inlaid in black coral, a macaque reaches towards it's mate while another scurries away, the lid carved as a bird nest amongst ginkgo leaves and nuts with a snail to the side, signed to the base
