A 19th century beech and fruit wood rocking chair, the spindled back above a rattan seat, raised upon annulated front legs and plain rear legs, united by cross stretchers and mounted upon bow rockers, 102cm high, along with a spindle back country chair, with down swept arms, rattan seat and turned front legs raised upon castors, 110cm high (2)
Rocking chair - Runners are worn near flat, making rocking difficult and uneven. The frame appears to be structurally sound, showing some minor movement in the arms. The seat appears to be newly caned.
Country chair - The frame shows some lateral movement and has been reinforced with later brackets under the seat. There is an open joint at the right front corner, and screws inserted into the legs. The right arm shows and historic repair. There is some evidence of historic woodworm activity. The seat appears to be newly caned.
