A mid 18th century Scottish basket hilted backsword, blade 34" with one broad and one narrow fuller and 17" back edge, standard type hilt with bun pommel, the bars pierced with hearts, and incorporating a large oval ring, forward guard (one bar missing) and small wrist guard, the wooden grip having Turk's heads and retaining parts of the fishskin covering.
