A large German 14 bore (approximately .780”) rifled wheel lock arquebus, 1600, 71” overall, heavy octagonal barrel 56” with 12 groove rifling, the breech struck with the guild marks of Suhl and Henneberg and maker’s mark “BK” over star and crescent moon; full stocked, the fish tail butt having large cheek piece, deep thumb grip, and with large iron trigger guard with deep finger grips. GC (no lock, the butt wormed). Ex Von Giech Sale, Sothebys, November 1974. Sothebys sold the sporting gun collection and associated items of the Counts von Giech of Schloss Thurnau, Franconia, in two sales, in May and November 1974 £800-1000
