Jamini Roy (Indian, 1887-1972). Tempera of a Dancing Gopini, signed in Bengali script. Roy was one of the most influential Indian artists of his generation and was himself a student of the great Abanindranath Tagore. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan (one of the highest civilian honours) by the Indian Government in 1954. 33 x 24cm
