Star Lot: An original Reiner Karge (German b.1944-d.1995) gouache on watercolour paper painting. Featuring Karge's dynamic figures in a strong graphic palette of black and purple. Signed Karge bottom right and dating to 1987. Housed in a lacquered black frame behind glass. Karge sells well at auction with works fetching into the mid hundreds. MM 90cm x 65cm including frame.
Karge's style is associated with Neo-Expressionism. During his lifetime he had exhibitions in Germany, Switzerland, Monaco, Cannes, Nice, Bologna, Sanremo, Bordighera and Capo d'Orlando.
