COVERS & POSTAL HISTORY 1789 (5 Oct) letter headed "General Post Office" from the Secretary of the Post Office, Anthony Todd, to the Postmaster General, Lord Walsingham, includes "My Lord I am very much obliged to your Lordship for your letter of yesterday, and likewise for what you say of me to honest Braithwaite, and as I must desire to hold you to your kind promise of dining here on Wednesday. I cannot consent to the chop house dinner and have wrote Lord Westmorland accordingly".
