A scarce Cooper's patent six barrel self cocking pepperbox revolver, circa 1845. This example features a folding trigger mounted beneath the underhammer, primer shield, and a blued frame and fluted barrels, now faded, the frame and shield engraved with scrollwork. Chequered walnut grips with concealed trap to butt. Sideplate marked "J.R. Cooper, Maker". John Rock Cooper (Birmingham 1814–1882) Six chambers, approx. 9mm. Barrel length 73mm. Overall length 206mm. Working action. NOTE: Section 58 (2) No licence required in the UK.
