A VICTORIAN MARK II MARTINI -HENRY ARTILLERY CARBINE. With a .577/450 calibre 52.5cm barrel, cut before the fore-sight and stamped DP, with ram-rod beneath the barrel. Stamped to the but for 'Enfield with War Department arrow, and broad 'II' for Mark two, D.P. for drill purpose suggesting it was modified after 1891 when no longer fit for front line service. Also marked with facing arrows as being sold out of service. 95cm overall.
