French 5th Infantry Officer's Mid 19th Century Shako. A good example tailored in Paris Circa 1860. The black shako retaining fine gilt plate of the 5th Infantry Regiment and retaining gilt chin scales. The interior with leather sweatband and crimson silk lining. complete with wool ball pommel. Gilt bright and fresh moth to the back edge base. End section of leather chinstrap backing absent.
