A Japanese porcelain punch bowl 19th century, probably for the Chinese market, painted in polychrome enamels and underglaze blue, with a central, lappet bordered reserve of a flaming mythical dog amidst clouds, below three reserves with phoenix, knarled trees and flowers, divided by geometric foliate and diaper panels, the exterior painted with flowers and foliage above a lappet band, iron red mark to base, 11in. (28cm.) diameter; together with a pair of Japanese porcelain baluster vases with frilled rims, painted with pheasants on rockwork amidst flowers and butterflies, 10¼in. (26cm.) high. (3)
