Anglo-Saxon Gilt Face Mount. Circa 6th-7th century CE. Copper-alloy, 25mm x 6mm 7.48g. A heavily gilded terminal or mount in the form of a facing male bust. Almost certainly a representation of the Saxon God, Wodan. Similar in style to that seen on the silver sceattas of the period. ex. Private UK collection, purchased 19/01/2008. Coincraft.
