NINETEENTH CENTURY MOULDED POTTERY ‘SNUFF TAKER’ TOBY JUG, in honey glaze, 9 ½” (24.cm) high, together with a SALT GLAZED POTTERY CYLINDRICAL STORAGE JAR WITH COVER, applied with Royal crest and ribbon banner, uninscribed, 12 ½” (31.8cm) high, and a POTTERY MUG with greyhound pattern handle, inscribed: ‘STEPHEN FERGUSON, GLADSTONE TERRACE, 1898’ and sprigged with flowers, 4” (10.2cm) high, (3)
C/R- toby, chip to the spout, 1” x ¼” approx, bad chip to the base, beneath the handle, 2” x ½” approx and another, smaller, storage jar, 5 rim chips to the cover, 3 quite bad, and 1 hairline, 2” long approx, the body with 6 rim chips, 5 to the front, and a hairline, 3” long approx, glaze rubs to both of the lion’s noses flanking the crest and a loss to the top band of sprigged, floral decoration, ¾” x ¾” approx, mug, 3 hairlines, 2 ½” approx, the longest, and with crazing
