Keith Haring (American, 1958-1990) - a set of three 1983 Montreux Jazz posters. Serigraph posters in neon colourways with twisted stick figure. Believed each with an original signature & date by Haring in felt tip pen.

Buyers Please Note: the seller has not been able to provide provenance. The official poster for the Jazz Festival had a signature in the plate and was printed on 250 gsm wove paper. All unofficial copies also have this plate signature to create false authenticity. A limited run of 80 signed and numbered by Haring in pencil preceded the official poster run and did not have the signature in the plate. This is the only example the seller can find where the lithographic plates were without the plate signature. It may be that what we have here is an early proof not on 250 gsm but on standard poster paper before the printing and signed by Keith Haring in felt tip pen as was his normal practice, perhaps for the Master Printer or someone involved with the poster production as the seller acquired the posters from nearby Serigraphs Ulney where the full poster run was printed: MDP Auctions SA, Villars-sur-Ollon, Switzerland - Kings of Pop Art. This is conjecture by the seller and the buyer must take their own view on this. The seller can not say whether this is a very rare set of three signed post proofs or a copy.
