£2,100
An English double fusee bracket clock utilising a movement by Webster of Cornhill and a Swiss music box movement. The painted wooden dial has a coastal scene below the chapter ring with an aperture through which a parade of two lines of ships slowly progress as the music box plays and the clock strikes the hour. The tune can be changed via a rod on the left hand side of the case. The arrangement is housed in a shallow arched mahogany case with fish scale side frets and brass bracket feet and carrying handle. the clock stands 43cm tall (handle raised).
The clock movement runs but needs some attention to the escapement. The music box runs but rather slowly. the paint on the dial is taking on a crackle effect. The clock may have been assembled by an enthusiast later than its component parts.
