Belgium: two large black folders of 1905 Liege World Fair official, promotional and humorous postcards by Smeets, Pissort, Marcovici, Bertels, Gerland, Otto and others, many postally used. Official cards using use many artists such as Comhaire, Lejeune and Zickwolff. Some postcards additional benefit by having the original gift tokens, ‘Talons’, attached – one is a scarce ‘sample’. Many are high quality in colour/tinted or using real photographs with painted figures added. Much Old Liege and postal history, 260+, in this well-presented and written up collection.

From the collection of Tom Pring, a highly respected member of the Belgian Study Circle and the author of two works on Belgian issues, ‘Fine Barbe Varieties’ (2009) and ‘1893 Armoires du Royaume’ (2015). Pring was half-way through a work on the Ostend-Dover Route, which he was sadly unable to complete.
