Cyma: A military issue open face pocket watch Date: Circa 1942 Movement: 3/4 plate 15 jewel, stem wind and set, No.390991 Dial: White enamel, black and luminous Arabic hour markers, subsidiary seconds at 6, black sword hands with luminous inserts Case: Nickel plated rround form, snap on back stamped "? G.S.T.P. H22530" Size: 52mm Footnote:Watches marked GSTP or GS/TP were issued to the British military during the Second World War, the letters standing for General Service Time Piece. Various manufacturers were commissioned but the pattern was broadly the same with either white or black dials, luminous Arabic numerals at 12, 3 and 9, a 'railroad' outer minutes track and a subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position. Cyma was also one of the manufacturers commissioned by the War Office to produce the legendary WWW wristwatches known among collectors as the Dirty Dozen.
