A late 18c eight day longcase clock, the 30cmsquare brass dial signed John Owen 145 (possibly of Llanrwst) and having four seasons spandrels to the corners. The movement has internal countwheel striking using the great wheel as a countwheel and standard anchor escapement. It is contained in an oak and mahogany case with swan neck pediment to the hood with a central spire and ball finial. Turned columns flank the hood door and the trunk has fluted quarter columns and a wavy top to the trunk door which has mahogany edge crossbanding. The base has canted corners and a wavy line inlay around the front panel. The base moulding has block foot and the clock stands 215cm tall overall.
The movement seems to lack its weights but is otherwise complete. The dial has some discolouration to the silvering. One of the hood columns is loose and the base has splits to the front and left hand side panels.
