Louis Ward (1913 - 2005) - x2 pieces of detailed, mixed media, original paintings by Bristol artist Louis Ward, believed to have been created for an unissued series of cigarette cards in the mid 20th century. Featuring two illustrations of Asian proverbs, 'The winter is past, but the face of the charcoal - burner is as black as ever', and 'Sweep the snow from your own door before worrying about the frost on your neighbours tiles'. Both are mounted, measuring approximately 24 cm x 19 cm, including the mount.
