A late 19th century Doulton Lambeth stone ware jug of political interest 'Leeds Election 1880', the front decorated in relief with a picture of the Rt Honourable W E Gladstone (24,622 votes) the jug further similarly decorated and with various annotations including 'Effort, Honest, Manful, Humble Effort Succeeds By Its Reflective Action Upon Character, Better Than Success' (24cm high, impressed incised mark to underside including date 1882)
