One of only two postcards to survive the war from Flight Lieutenant Wally Floody of the Royal Canadian Air Force (R.C.A.F.) while at Stalag Luft III (dated 30th September 1942), to his wife stating that he was 'preparing for his old job in Timmino' meaning mining. This references that he was preparing a tunnel which he was 'Face Head Tunneler' of the tunnel 'Harry'.

Flight Lieutenant Wally Floody under suspicion from the guards at Stalag Luft III was transferred to another compound within the camp, and was unable to take part in the eventual escape during WW2.
