WW2 British George VI Military Cross , engraved "1946" a George V Indian General Service medal, correctly impressed "Lieut N.A.Courage" a 39-45 Star and War Medal mounted for wear, along with cased corresponding dress miniatures. M.C. Gazetted 14th February 1946 "in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in the field" Lieutenant Colonel Nigel Anthony Courage M.C. son of Brigadier General Anthony Courage MC, DSO. At the outbreak of WW2 he was serving as Adjutant, shortly afterwards being given command of "B" Squadron, and whilst commanding "B" Squadron during the withdrawal over the River Dendre on the 18th of May 1940 he was severely wounded and taken Prisoner. Post war he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, and served as chairman of the regimental association until his death in 1964. "The History of 15/19 The Kings Royal Hussars 1939-1945" By Major G. Courage DSO. named to "N.A. Courage M.C. 1949" on the fly leaf. and his fathers silver cigarette case engraved "a memento of the Dorsetshire Yeomanry Military tournament August 1909.
