This is an original 1930's wool coat in navy with the silvered buttons including ''John Ireland'' and ''P&T'' made examples. A very handsome example with wide, stiff lapels. Lined with heavy canvas including one long baton pocket. Size XL Comes with a copy of the original photograph of occur wearing the uniform.
This outstanding remnant of Irish history once belonged to Garda Micheal O' Connor, the father of artist Joseph O'Connor. O'Connor served in An Garda Siochána during the period of 1935-1956. An example of the cloak sold over estimation at Adams for €420.
