Metropolitan Vickers. A leather bound photograph album of the company's aircraft production 1939-45: containing images of the construction of the factory in 1939 through to a presentation in 1945, including 'Our First Manchester (Xmas 1940)', production line, staff and official visit photographs production of the 1000th machine etc, also several letters on Ministry of Aircraft Production letter headed paper, giving thanks to the company. Note - In 1919 Vickers acquired both the Metropolitan Carriage, Wagon & Finance Company and British Westinghouse creating Metropolitan Vickers adding electrical engineering to their vast engineering and manufacturing portfolio. In 1938 Metrovick entered into a joint venture with A V Roe to build aircraft and assembled Manchester, Lancaster and Lincoln bombers.
