Interesting 1923/24 Nice Golf Club silver medal - hallmarked Birmingham with Nice Golf Club crest on the obverse and on the reverse fine early embossed period golfing scene - comes in what is believed to be the original Mappin & Webb London, Paris Fabrication Anglaise fitted case with the owner's business card for Mr T M Turnbull Aislaby Hall, Sleights, Yorks. Note The medal comes from a direct descendent of Thomas Montgomery Turnbull of Turnbull and Scott Shipping, Whitby. He was married to a French woman, was well travelled incl The Grand Tour and also played a lot of golf!!
