S Jones (active late 19th Century), Highland gamekeeper's rest, oil on canvas, signed and dated 1881, 30cm x 45cm
The canvas exhibits some paint loss in patches (see images) particularly on the left hand side, the right hand side above the signature and a small patch above the gamekeeper's head. There is crackeleure visible both on the horse and the jacket of the gamekeeper. The paint does appear thin in places with the canvas showing (see images).
The frame has been 're-gilded'.
This painting has not been viewed under UV light.
