Written to Dudley Poplak, his friend and interior designer, effusively expressing his thanks for the birthday gift of a 'splendid commode' which Dudley had sent him, and he reminisces about another previous gift of an 'exquisite Edward Lear'. Signed 'Yours most gratefully, Charles' White envelope with blue royal cypher, addressed by hand and unpostmarked.
