A WWII Second World War British Airborne / Assault Troops string vest. These vests were issued to some aircrews as an escape aid. If needed the vest could be unravelled and plaited to form a strong rope to aid escape, and several together could form a rather long rope. Tag to the bottom tag dated 1944 along with broad arrow mark.
