Early 19c English mantel clock the dial signed F Battens (Baetons?) London in a bronze and ormolu drumhead case, the 10cm dial flanked by bronze classical figures and mounted on a long rectangular bronze base mounted with a rams head and floral ormolu decoration. The clock drum is surmounted by an ormolu Eagle. The white enamel dial has black Roman numerals and fronts a circular English single fusee movement with chain drive. the clock stands 33cms h.
The case is intact and complete but there is wear to the gilding, particularly on the plinth. The hands have been replaced and their is some damage to the dial around the winding hole. The movement is complete except the pin on the crutch is missing and the pendulum suspension spring is broken. But the pendulum is present.
