An early 19c eight day longcase clock, the 12in arched painted dial signed R.C. French, Ely and having an Arabian scene in the arch and ruins to the corners. The numerals are Roman and there is a seconds ring, and the dial has matched brass hands. The four pillar movement has anchor escapement and is rack striking on a bell. It is contained in a mahogany case with fretted decoration to the hood and fluted columns flanking the dial. The trunk has twisted rope columns flanking the arched well figured door and the base is plain with bun feet, Clock 85in tall overall.
Dial condition is good. Movement is complete but dusty. Case in generally good condition. Slight splitting to right hand side of hood and a crack to upper moulding of base at front.
