A part late 17th-century brass, 30-hour lantern clock, by an undescribed maker, with urn finial cast bell and decorative frets, now fitted an odd-legged deadbeat escapement, the silvered dial with Roman increments and a single iron hand above a rose engraved centre. supported by small bun feet. 15.5 cm wide x 14.5 cm deep x 38 cm overall height. A private estate I think the clock has seen extensive re-working and I can not see any evidence of a verge escapement on the top plate, the top plate is now fitted with a Babbcock to accommodate a spring steel tipped pendulum seating below in a forked crutch.
