A 19th century Chinese lady's silk hat, the midnight blue silk ground embroidered in satin stitch, couching, and delicately worked Pekin knot to depict auspicious symbols, birds, butterflies, peaches, and having edged ear flaps with embroidered reveals, 42cms long together with a pair of Chinese Lotus or bound feet shoes, circa 1900, in black and purple silk, finely embroidered with flowers. [Provenance: Exhibited at the McClung Museum Knoxville Tennessee 2005, No49] and a pair of Chinese bound feet shoes or 'lotus shoes', late Qing Dynasty, circa 1900, hand embroidered on red silk satin and to the blue silk covered heels.
